Disney World...again?

The Lethaby's have had an incredibly busy spring so far, and so rewarded themselves with another trip to Disney World! I don't know about you, but we tend to try out new places to visit/holiday whenever it's vacation time. But when dad has a conference in Orlando (his flight paid, hotel covered at no extra charge AND no vacation days to take), the whole family followed!

We pulled the boys out of school, pulled Carol away from her many contracts and left it all behind. Our start was a little shaky...8 hours at the airport because of a delayed flight, but as you can see, the boys managed!

Our first stop was the Grand Cypress Hyatt...we fell in love with the pool! Waterfalls, and all these hidden caves and caverns (and hot tubs!).

We checked out Universal Studios this trip...just the Islands of Adventure. JUST? Shane and John managed the Dualing Dragons..."Best roller coaster I've ever been on!", exclaimed Shane. The Dr. Seuss section was also very appealing to the boys...go figure!

While John conferenced it for the next 3 days, Carol and the boys hit downtown Disney, Epcot and Magic Kingdom. Downtown Disney for a little Disney Quest action...from on-board pirate ship battles to roller coaster design and simulators...fun day to spend indoors while we had the only rain of the week. Epcot...boys can never get enough of that place. Magic Kingdom...only went for a couple of the roller coaster rides and then back to the hotel for fun!

By Wednesday we were moving house...heading to the Carribean Beach Disney resort. Wanted the Disney Dining Plan (best recommendation I can make to future travellers).

Tried out Typhoon Lagoon this year for a water park. The new ride called the "Crusher gusher" was wild! Think roller coaster/water slide and you'd be close. VERY FUN...went on it again and again! The boys also loved the huge waves in the main pool (pool? Try manmade ocean!).

We had to see Cirque du Soleil again...another amazing show. It was the same as the one we saw last year, but it seemed as fresh and exciting as ever. Such talent, colour, sound and sights...never to be forgotten!

Favourite meal? For Carol - goat cheese appetizer at the English Pub on Pleasure Island (Downtown Disney). Flavour and presentation heaven! For Shane - Mickey ice cream sandwiches. For Joel - cheeseburger and fries from our Disney resort. We'll work on their taste palettes!

Back to Epcot...Had to do "Soarin' "...one of our favourite rides. "Test Track" was open this year...car races around a track...high speed. If you ask the boys, they'd say it was okay. If the wait time was less, they'd do it again, but otherwise...not worth it. Hmmm? Never have been car boys! Saw the Epcot fireworks display...impressive as usual and Joel's highlight? A new soccer ball from "Germany"! Some things never change...

Had a great time...and of course the boys left saying, "Next time we want to..."!!
