At soccer earlier this week, we approached Joel's coach to ask if there was something we could do to get him into some more challenging soccer. We were noticing some bad habits creeping in. i.e. not passing. For him, it was simple logic...the other kids would probably miss his pass. Why waste a shot?!!
His coach had been watching Joel and was wondering how long we'd wait before moving him up. He suggested the U10 Blizzard club, which, this late in the season still had room for another couple of boys. A few emails later, as well as a little name dropping (we've had some of their coaches in soccer camps the last 2 years) and Joel got a try-out last night.
He was beside himself happy! We were just a little proud, but to our biased eyes, he was the most focused 9 year old out there! He loved the drills, tried his best and did show them a few moves that hopefully worked.
Next step...see if the coaches saw the same thing these 2 parents did!!
